It is hard to believe but in just a few days we will be welcoming our second daughter into our family. We have been so blessed with Madalyn for the past 5 years that it's hard for me to imagine having another one. I think we finally have everything we need and are ready to go. Madalyn has been helping to get the room ready and is super pumped about being a big sister. Photos of the nursery to come. I just wanted to give a quick update and let everyone know how much more time we have. Stay tuned.....

Just Catching Up!!!

I am kind of embarrassed that it's been so long since my last post!!! I was doing so good keeping up with this blog and then life kicked in and everything got busy. I want to make it my goal to post at least once every week going forward. We shall see what happens!! So....in the last few months we have had a lot going on!! Justin and I are expecting our second daughter who should be arriving in about 6 weeks!! Yikes....that means we probably need to finish preparing for her!! My pregnancy this time around has been completly different than it was with Madalyn. I am more tired, sore, achy than I was with her. On top of everything else we have going on I am looking forward to not being pregnant for now and finally enjoying being a mommy to another perfect angel! We are all super excited about adding Baby Looney to our family and Madalyn is looking forward to finally being a big sister!

Madalyn also turned 5 in November!! I knew that day would come but I had no idea just how fast it would. I'm still having a hard believing I have a 5 year old!! We were fortunate to be able to spend her birthday at Disney World. That has been a trip we've been planning on since she was born. We always knew we wanted to take her there when she turned 5. Nana and Pappy were able to go with us and we had an absolute wonderful time. Madalyn was able to meet every single princess and see the castle at the Magic Kingdom. To see the look on her face during the trip was priceless. We look forward to going again and hope we can make it there again once our new little one turns 5. That was the trip of a lifetime for a little girl and we made memories that will last forever!

Justin and I have also been working very hard on my photography business. I am currently taking a short break while we prepare for baby but we will be starting up again full speed at the end of March. 2011 was a fantastic year for business and I can only hope it will be just as good or better in 2012. Taking family and childrens photos is by far my favorite and now that I have added daycare/preschool photos it has kept me very busy.

Hopefully this catches me up a little bit at least and I can hopefully keep it going each week!! More to come!!!

Wow, my last post was in May!! What a slacker!! I was hoping to do better about posting but that obviously didn't happen!! So...that means I have several things to post now. These are things that may only be interesting to a few people or maybe none, but they make me happy either way!!

Madalyn got her hair cut a couple of months ago and became a diva instantly!! The "trim" was just meant to clean up her hair and even it out. Who knew it would change her already sassy attitude!! We love it!!

We spent last weekend in Lubbock visiting our family and picking Madalyn up from her first week away from home with Mimi and Pappa. She had a great time but we were ready to see her!! Wow, it's been over a month since my last post. Sorry about that! It's been a busy month for the Looney household. Justin has been traveling for work and I've been taking lots of pictures. I have several posts for today and hopefully I can stay caught up:) These are just some random pics of Madalyn from our backyard. This was just emailed to me from my MIL Shirley. It's Madalyn and her sweet friend Kyla. It was taken about 2 years ago or so at the botanical garden in Fort Worth. They were so little and cute just holding hands and skipping through the flowers. Makes me sad and soooo ready for another little one. Madalyn and Kyla are still friends and they love hanging out with each other.

We took Madalyn to the Fort Worth Rodeo last Sunday. It was her first time at a rodeo and I think she left with mixed feelings. She really could of cared less and thought it was too loud. She was very sad that we didn't let her ride any rides on the midway afterwards!! Maybe next year:)

It was 80 degrees this past weekend and today...it was 19!!!! We had snow and lots of ICE!! Needless to say schools are closed for 2 days which means no work either! I let Madalyn and Max play in the snow for about 10 minutes today. They had fun but were both near frozen afterwards!! I can't wait for spring!

If I didn't have 200 other things going on during the week and blogger always worked the way it should, then I wouldn't have any issues getting photos posted on here!! I finally purchased some lights to do some indoor photography. Although I like natural light photography better and think flashes and lights make people look blown out, I decided to get a set just in case I need to do indoor photos. Not everyone has the perfect picture window with lots of natual sunlight flowing in. This photo is unedited and I think it turned out nice. I only used one of the lights for this one. I can't wait to practice more and get my home studio completed:)

I've always wanted to start a 365 photo project. Since I actually remembered this on the first day of the year, I thought now would be as good a time as any:) I hope I just actually remember to post something each day!! Thanksgiving was fabulous again this year!! It's so nice to have Jason and his family home from Germany and here to spend some time with us!! This is always my favorite time of year and I love getting to spend time with family and have lots of great food. I look forward to next year already:)

We have lived in our house for five and half years and have been waiting that long to get our backsplash done. Just when we thought we were going to have to hire a contractor I found the brothers-in-law were coming for Thanksgiving. Jason, Ronnie and Justin did an absolute amazing job on the tile work. Jason especially much so much effort into making sure this got time in the time they were here. On Thanksgiving as soon as we were done eating, everyone helped clear the kitchen out and they got to work. I am super happy with the work and so glad we didn't let anyone else do it for us. Thanks for ALL of your hard work!!

Madalyn's birthday party was on 11/13 and she had a wonderful time. She decided on a My Little Pony party with a Princess and the Frog cake!! We had the party at Let's Jump in Keller. It was nice to be able to have so many people attend and not clean up afterwards:) Here are some photos from her party.

I can hardly believe it but our little angel will be 4 in a just a couple of weeks. Her birthday party is this weekend so I wanted to get some birthday photos of her this past weekend. This year for Halloween Justin and I decided not to dress up and let Madalyn choose her own costume. We went to the store with the intent on getting an Ariel costume but left with this Barbie Fairy one!! She was happy with it and that's all that mattered. She went trick or treating with the best neighbors ever and had a great time!! Next year we will dress up as a family again:)

Madalyn and her sweet friend Kyla had the chance to go to Sweet and Sassy for mani's and pedi's a few weeks ago. It was fun to see them becoming little ladies and getting their nails done. Last weekend we made the painful drive to Lubbock so Justin could attend his first Texas Tech game of the season!! It was a good chance to hang out with my family as well. Madalyn got to play with her cousins Kelsey, Kinsey and Casey and I was able to see my sisters Mindy and Jamie. Before we left on Sunday Madalyn and I stopped by to visit with Nanny, my grandmother. All in all it was a good trip and I look forward to going again. Just not anytime soon:):)

I know it seems silly but I am blogging about my new computer bag!! While we were out of town, Shirley my mother-in-law bought me a Vera Bradley computer bag. I normally just carry my computer in Justin's hand me down Wells Fargo bag or a Wells bag that I got from work this year. I will have to say, this one is MUCH nicer and my pretty pink computer looks much better in it!! Thanks Shirley!! You know me too well!!

While visiting my mom, on Saturday we wanted to take Madalyn back to the Gulf for one last chance to swim. While we were at the Sea Rim park, mom, Madalyn and I started gathering some shells. We brought back a large bag of them and while I was cleaning them today I noticed the bowl was moving. There was still a crab in one of them so now we have our very own fresh caught hermit crab!!! I kind of felt bad for the little guy because he was in that plastic bag for over 24 hours when I finally got around to cleaning them. We ran to Petsmart and got him a tank and food. He seems to be doing okay for now but our hopes aren't too high that he'll be around forever.

His name is Kroger Krab!! He's in the black shell.

This weekend we took our first family trip to see Grandma in Orange. I have been there several times over the last few years and Justin has even gone a time or two. This was the first time Madalyn got to go and she had a wonderful time!! We got to enjoy being near the water, going over the huge bridges, Grandma's FABULOUS cooking and just getting to hang out with my mom. It was fun and we look forward to going back again.

I can hardly beleive it's been 3 years since Madalyn had her craniotomy. It seems like just yesterday we were going through the heartache of hearing our little angel would have to go through such an invasive operation that had a whole list of complications. After many sleepless nights and more prayers than I can remember, we made it through and most importantly Madalyn made it through. So far she hasn't had ANY of the side affects that were associated with a surgery like this and besides yearly visits to her plastic surgeon, neurosurgeon and optometrist, she is free and clear of any future surgeries!! Below are some pictures that I promise not to share anymore after this year:)

After an almost 9 hour surgery, this was my first look at Madalyn once she was done. Needless to say, there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

The next morning in ICU. Seeing your baby like this is hard. Especially when there's not much you can do!!

This is her ear to ear incision. Her doctor was fabulous and didn't have to cut any of her hair.

Just a couple of days later with Daddy in the hospital. She was still on pain meds but was pretty happy when she was awake even though it took about 6 days for her to see again.

We were finally at home and this is the first time she was able to see. She was very excited to have a little bit of her vision back.

This was about the ninth day at home.

This was taken 2 weeks after her surgery. The swelling stayed for about a year and then finally went away:)

These were taken last weekend when Kate brought Aiden over for some pictures. Sometimes Madalyn is a complete loon when it comes to others being over. Can you believe that I have been accused of taking too many pictures!! Well there is a reason behind that. Or maybe a few reasons: first off, they are not just pictures but they are memories!! When Madalyn gets older I want her to be able to look back and see that she had a great childhood. Secondly, I LOVE taking pictures!!! I have 3 cameras and at least one of them is with me 100% of the time. And thirdly, I have the cutest daughter in all of the world!! She likes me taking her pictures which works out well for both of us:) So, I will never stop taking pictures and that is why I like helping others captures memories that will last a lifetime!!

Yesterday we went to the National Cowboy Day celebration at the Stockyards in Fort Worth. We went mostly to see the longhorn cows because the news let on to be that it was going to be a "running" of the cows sort of and that it wasn't!! I think there were 10 or so cows that walked their way in front of the crowd. Most likely the same 10 cows that partake in this walk every Wednesday morning and know this route like the back of their hooves!! Either way it was fun and it gave us something to do!! Last Sunday the 18th was a huge day for both Justin and myself. We both took a huge step at church and were baptised. This is something we have been wanting to do for a very long time and finally found a church family and pastor that we are comfortable with. We attend church at Calvary Chapel in Fort Worth and if you don't already have a church home, I encourage you to try that one out. We have never felt better about a church and can't imagine going anywhere else. We look forward to building on our relationship with God and helping Madalyn with this also.

The 4th of July holiday has come and gone again. This time of year is always my favorite because of all the time spent outdoors, the BBQ's and spending time with friends! On Saturday we went to the Roanoke Third Rocks with Bronson, LeeAnn and Kaden to have dinner and watch the fireworks. It was good cheap family fun!!! That always makes for a great night!! Sunday after church we had lunch with our family in Weatherford and then came home to hang out with our fantastic neighbors, Jody and Christina. After some yummy food, a round of miniture golf and a movie it was time to call it a weekend!! Probably one of the best 4th of July's to date.

Pappa and Mimi also came to visit this week which was nice. We love having our family stay with us and Madalyn likes the extra attention of course!! While they were here we went and saw Toy Story 3 and went to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. It was nice spending some time together before they headed back to Lubbock.

This week started a much needed vacation for all of us. To kick things off Justin and I traveled down to Glen Rose with Bronson and LeeAnn to stay at Cedars on the Brazos. The views are wonderful and the owner Janice is probably the nicest person you will ever meet! If you are ever looking for a nice get away that is close to home, that's the place to go. We had so much fun floating on the river and just being lazy for 3 days. We look forward to going back in the future.

Father's Day is this weekend so I wanted to share some recent pictures of Madalyn and Justin. It always makes me happy to see them together. Justin is a wonderful dad and is great with Madalyn. I try to get as many photos of them as possible because I want these memories to last forever. I don't remember a single of picture of me with my dad growing up and I know I can't change anything about that but I can make sure Madalyn never feels that way when she gets older. Madalyn takes dance at her preschool and had her first recital last Sunday. She did so good and remembered almost all of her lines. Nana, Uncle Ray and Uncle Phil all came to watch. Uncle Phil gave her some beautiful daisies afterwards!! I look forward to watching her in future recitals.

Madalyn is growing up so fast. I have no idea where the time has gone. Our neighborhood has 7 pools and every year we try to go as often as possible. Madalyn loves the water so this year we thought swimming lessons would be a good idea. She started tonight and did a wonderful job. We were so proud of her and how she listened so well during her class. Here are a few pictures from her first class. Hopefully we will have one of her actually swimming in 13 weeks:)

Our sweet friends Tye and Ashley's little man Parker turned one last week. We had the chance to be apart of their family outing to Fossil Rim in Glen Rose for his special day. Yesterday was Mayfest here in Fort Worth. Last year the entire event was canceled because of the Swine Flu outbrake. Madalyn and I went with Nana and ended up running into Uncle Phil. I think we were out there for almost 6 hours and had a great time.

On April 24th I participated in my second Walk Like MADD. It supports Mother's Against Drunk Driving. The walk in Dallas was much more exciting than the one in Fort Worth. Here are some pictures from the day.

Last weekend was Easter. Mimi and Pappa came into town and we spent Saturday with them. It was fun spending time with them and seeing little Sadie and Colt. Madalyn and Sadie spent a lot of time running and even more time eating candy:) On Sunday we went to church with everyone and then spent the rest of the afternoon with Nana and Pappy. This was by far the best Easter we've had in a long time. Spiritually I probably learned more than I ever have and was able to spend a lot of time with our family.

Madalyn got her first hair cut yesterday. I know she is almost 3 and half but it was hard letting go of that pretty hair. It had to be done though. She did very well and even after getting 3 inches cut off, it still looks cute:)

We made a trip out to Lubbock this weekend to visit our families and get out of town for the weekend!! It's always nice to visit and see how everyone is doing. We love our family very much and love seeing them all.

I have been slacking on just about everything lately and I can't even lie about it!! My goal is to finish my photography course before summer and finally get this ball rolling. I love taking photos of families but I also like landscapes and things in nature. These are some of took near my mom's house a few months ago. I can't wait to go back there and to Nashville this year to get some more great shots!! Keep an eye out for more soon!!

Most people don't know this but Madalyn is the next American Idol!!! She has been writing and singing songs for weeks getting ready for her big moment!! We practice every week getting ready for her "big" break. It's super funny to watch and I know when she gets to school she will probably be a performer of some sort. Love her!!

WOW, it's hard to believe the amount of snow we received today!!! It's not even done for the day and we've already broken the record for snowfall in a single day in DFW!!! I don't like the snow so Justin and Madalyn played while I took pictures!!

Christmas in the Looney house has come and gone. It was a great year and Madalyn was a very good girl. We spent some time in Lubbock with The Looney's and then had Christmas here with Nana and Pappy. It was a white Christmas which was extra nice. We look forward to the holiday season again next year.

This year I turned 30. That's right...the big 30!!! While I was busy getting everything ready for Madalyn's birthday party, Justin was in the process of putting together a fabulous surprise party for me!! It was probably one of the best nights ever! Justin did such a great job putting it together and that combined with great friends made for a wonderful evening. We had an '80's murder mystery complete with costumes and some great acting. Thanks to all of my friends and wonderful husband for the best birthday party ever!!!

Well it finally happened!! Madalyn turned 3!! I knew it was going happen I just didn't know it would happen so fast!! You don't realize how fast kids grow up until you have your own!! Before we know it she will be 30!! We had a great time with our friends and family and Madalyn received more princess stuff than we know what to do with. Last year Justin decided we should start dressing up for Halloween. That will make us the "cool" parents! Honestly, I think it might give Madalyn a complex when she gets older. Anyway, we decided to drag Bronson, LeeAnn, and Kaden into this year:) They are such great friends to join in the "coolness" of being parents at Halloween time!!

Well it finally came and went. The Breast Cancer 3 Day was last weekend and let me just tell you, it was one of the best things I have ever accomplished!!! I met new friends, made new memories and took a journey I will never forget!! From the begining to the end it was an emotional experience! It's amazing just how far you can walk when you have great friends and tons of support from everyone around you. I have to say the next day I was kind of sad not to have people cheering me on everytime I walked out the door or getting random hugs from everyone under the sun!! It was so much fun and something I will never forget!!

It's hard to beleive the 3 Day will be here in about 30 days!! I am almost done with my fundraising. I will be hosting a craft fair on November 15th to help finish up. Everyone has been very supportive and I just can't wait for the big weekend. At first I was going to stay in a hotel for obvious reasons but have since decided just to rough it out in the tents! I may regret it but I think it will be fun to enjoy the full experience on the walk. And it will be much easier to commute from the camp site to the walk each day. It's only two nights so I think I might be able to handle it:) I will keep everyone posted on my progress!!

For Labor Day weekend we got to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. For those of you that don't know it's a huge hotel in Grapevine that has an indoor and outdoor waterpark. Needless to say it's the perfect place for families to stay. We stayed there with John, Cindy, Jim-Britt, Andrea, and Sadie. We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to go back:)

On August 22nd, Madalyn and I made a trip out to the Dallas Zoo. We had never been there before and Justin needed some time to study. It was okay, nothing like the Fort Worth Zoo. The good thing is, Madalyn had tons of room to run around because no one was there:)

I haven't been on here to post in forever because we have been super busy this summer!! And my camera lens is broken so I haven't been too motivated to take a lot of pics with my other camera. It should be back from Nikon soon and I will take some new pictures. Anyway, as most of you know I am training to walk in the Breast Cancer 3 Day which is in just under 2 months!! I have made a lot of progress but in no way ready to walk 60 miles! I didn't realize just how far 60 miles was until I started checking the mileage on random drives in the car. After driving around town for 2 days I finally hit 60 miles. At this point I can't even imagine walking that far in 3 days. But with that said, I have been mentally preparing myself for the walk and can't wait to take on such a tough challenge. Now the fundraising on the other hand has not been so easy. $2300 is very difficult to come up with but is required in order to walk. I have a couple of events coming up that will hopefully help me meet this goal. I will post more details when they are available. So, I promise to most more often and will keep everyone up to date on my progress for the 3 Day:)

I finally got crafty and made Madalyn a tutu so naturally I had to take some pictures with her wearing it:) These were taken in our backyard with the fabric for my curtains as a backdrop. I broke the lens for my nice camera so I had to use my little purple Nikon for these. They turned out well if I say so myself. Needless to say these pictures are all over my desk at work!! And yes, her hair is long!! People tell me that daily as if I don't already know:):)

Max was obviously our first baby but over the last 2 years Madalyn has taken over. She now calls him her dog and will correct you if you say otherwise. Her preschool is doing a project with the kids and their animals so I took these updated pics for Madalyn to have on her poster. I think she was the only one in the pictures that was actually kissing the dog on the mouth:) They love each other.

Well we finally made it to Sea World while Justin is doing some work in Kerrville for a few weeks. We had a great time with Justin's parents: Phillip, Shirley, John and Cindy. I am glad everyone got to experience Madalyn's first of many trips to Sea World.

This was when we got home. Madalyn now thinks she is a whale trainer and practices her tricks each day.

Justin and I have a tradition of having our photo with this Shamu when we go to Sea World. It only made sense to have Madalyn take part in this now:)

Way back when we first found out we were going to be parents, Justin has always had dreams of having a little tennis player. Well last year Madalyn started watching tennis games with him but didn't really care that much. This year however, she has been sucked in to watching them and I think might even enjoy it a little. Here we were trying to get out the door to have lunch with Nana but Justin just had to watch another set and then another and you get you the idea. There is little Madalyn right next to him the whole time. Needless to say Roddick didn't win and now we leave it to Madalyn to win one for the American's just has soon as she can hold a tennis racket properly:)

We spent the 4th of July this year at home. Our neighbors came over for a BBQ and then off to see the fireworks. We went to Grapevine like we have the last couple of years. This was the first year we went without anyone else. It was nice since we haven't been able to spend a lot of time together due to Justin traveling. Next year we look forward to spending the holiday with our family and friends in Lubbock.

As many of you already know. I am making the very long 60 mile walk in November to support the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation. I originally signed up to be part of the Crew which is a volunteer role. Over the last month or so I have decided to walk. Which means I have to raise at least $2300 in order to do so. I need the help of everyone in order to achieve this huge goal. I am in the process of getting some fund raising items together and will post them when they are complete. Even though summer isn't officially here, the warm weather is!!! We have several pools in our neighborhood and try to get out there as often as we can while it's hot. Madalyn is usually a very big help when it comes to doing laundry. This day she decided she would wait for me in the dryer while I folder clothes. Now she thinks it's the funniest thing ever. Luckily the dryer can't start while she's sitting in there. Silly girl!!

Today was the March of Dimes walk in Fort Worth. It was a nice day for a walk and it was nice getting to walk with my friends from work. It was only 3.5 miles which is nowhere close to the 60 miles I will be walking in November!!

Justin was out of town yesterday so I took Madalyn to the zoo. We had the best time. I have included a cute video of her in parakeet cage. We have been to the zoo a million times and I never knew about these birds. It was well worth the $1 to feed them. Enjoy!!

A couple of weeks ago Pappaw, Mimi and Jeri-Ann were in town. They took Madalyn, Sadie and Andrea to the Dallas Aquarium. Madalyn had a great time and is still talking about her trip. We have been working on potty training for the last couple of months but recently we have been working very hard getting Madalyn to use the big potty. So far so good. Thankfully we have daycare that helps out a lot during the day. I'm sure some day she will hate these pictures:)

Nana and Pappy bought Madalyn this bike several months ago but Madalyn is finally able to ride it by herself. She has been practicing in the house but since the weather is getting warmer we decided to let her ride it outside on Sunday. She loved her new helmet which she is wearing for obvious reasons. I think Justin and I took her up and down the block a thousand times before she decided she was tired:) She can't wait to go riding again this weekend.
